Qualifications required for UPSC Geologist Exam 2014:

• Candidates who possess Masters Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geology Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology are eligible to apply for Geologist jobs.
• candidates who possess M.Sc in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) are eligible to apply for Geophysicist posts.
• candidates who possess M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry are eligible to apply for  Chemist posts.
• candidates who possess Masters Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology are eligible to apply for Junior Hydro geologist posts. 

Age limit:
Aspirants whose age above 21 years and below 32 years are eligible to apply for Geologist posts.
